NOVEMBER 2011, 131 MILES
(Written in December)
November was an interesting time for my running. I had just completed my third marathon in Venice in late October and was amazed how much faster the recovery period was compared to the previous two. I spent the evening walking around Venice and the following day on my feet lookng around galleries and churches with hardly any pain or swelling. Seeing how fast improvments happen with distance running has spurred me on to do much more.
I don't think I will ever be fast, but maybe I could run further...
During November, I signed up for the London 50K (31mile) Ultra Marathon in February, the London Marathon in April and I took up barefoot running. I'm going to do my next races in barefoot shoes and I need to get used to them fast to keep up with the training schedule.
The highlights of the month were running up a mountain in Norway first thing in the morning. Such fresh air is gorgeous to breath in. And reading Born to Run.
